Model 8660
By implementing the Model 8660, users everywhere have access to advanced system functionality, such as advanced call handling features, Automatic Call Distribution (ACD), Unified Call Distribution (UCD), visual navigation of voice mail and complete support for Computer Telephony (CT) applications like customer relationship and agent tools.
Features
- Integrated switch provides three extra data ports
- Supports centralized power over LAN (Local Area Network) (IEEE compatible)
- Configurable jitter buffer
- G.165 echo cancellation
- G.711, G.729 vocoders
- Enables voice prioritization
- Internet-ready architecture
- Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and/or static IP addressing
- User configurable Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port numbers
- Uses Type of Service (ToS) field to assist in network Quality of Service (QoS)
- Real-time traffic diagnostics via Web browser
- On-screen programming of IP network settings
- 6-line by 16-character alphanumeric liquid crystal display (LCD) with eight, menu-driven "soft" keys
- Enables you to program buttons with feature codes
Benefits
- Provides an easy way to share the network connection at the desk and eliminates cable drops and/or abundance of switches under your desk
- Allows endpoints to be moved more freely throughout the building and to stay operational during power outages (using power backup in the wiring closet)
- Enables you to customize buffering to the network characteristics
- Facilitates high-quality echo cancellation
- Allows the phone to operate at toll quality performance or compressed at virtual toll quality
- Helps ensure that data flowing through the three extra Ethernet ports does not hinder the quality of the voice call
- Ensures phones are deployed securely over the Internet without Virtual Private Network (VPN) connections and enables you to place phones behind remote firewalls and Network Address Translation (NAT) points
- Supports both types of IP address assignment for flexible configuration and creates plug and play solutions
- Provides greater control of calls for administering firewalls, NAT devices and quality of service models
- Allows intelligent switches and routers to properly identify the voice traffic for prioritized call routing (QoS)
- Allows users to adjust network values from the screen of the phone
- Reduces the time it takes to process calls and retrieve messages
- Enables customization—access most commonly-used features with just one button
